Our Ingredients

Kobbleton Krafts will create and deliver quality products to our customers, and is committed to constantly learning and sharing not only our knowledge but the fruits of our labour with those in need.

Activated Charcoal Powder

Charcoal is not only an excellent natural colourant, it is believed to have the ability to draw bacteria, dirt, and other micro-particles to the surface of skin, helping the skin to be cleansed more effectively.

Bentonite Clay

Healing clays like bentonite have a high concentration of minerals including silica, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, and potassium. It also absorbs and removes toxins, heavy metals, impurities, and chemicals. Because of this, bentonite clay is a common ingredient in detox and cleansing products.

Botanicals

We use a variety of botanical ingredients to either provide a natural colourant – spirulina powder, moringa powder, beetroot powder etc – or to add gentle exfoliant properties – colloidal oatmeal, coffee grounds, poppy seeds an more. Any botanical ingredient used in our soap will be noted in the ingredient list for that soap.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is a thick, clear oil that helps increase the creamy lather in soap.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is the primary component in the majority of our bars. The oil mainly works as a cleansing agent, and contributes greatly to the lathering properties of the finished soap.

Essential Oils

Essential oils are extracted from plants, flowers and herbs, usually through a process of distillation, which involves heating the components until a gas is released, which is then condensed back into a liquid. It’s a gentle process that ensures the sensitive compounds don’t break down as it is not a harsh process.

Fragrance Oils

We use fragrance oils or essential oils to impart a mild aroma to our scented collections. All fragrance oils used are certified for use in soaps, in accordance with the Australian Government’s Department of Health NICNAS.

Hemp Oil

Hemp oil has fabulous skin-loving properties and creates an excellent lather. It’s dark green colour adds interest to natural soaps. We always stock at least one unscented, naturally coloured, vegan friendly hemp soap in our range.

Mango Butter

Has skin softening, soothing and moisturising properties, and helps to combat dry skin, eczema and dermatitis, and when used in soap produces a hard bar with a stable, conditioning lather.

Mica

Is a naturally occurring mineral dust used in cosmetics – eye shadows, lip sticks, etc and is can also be used to colour soap.

NaOH and KOH

Sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide (also known as lye) is an essential ingredient in the soap making process. When NaOH or KOH are mixed with water or another liquid such as coconut or rice milk, a lye solution is created. This solution, when mixed with fats or oils, will cause a chemical reaction called saponification that creates what we know as soap. Strange but true.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is another essential choice in our soap recipe as a moisturizer and skin-nourisher. It has a mild cleansing property with light lather.

Palm Oil

Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) are used in soapmaking as secondary lathering agents and also contribute to a hard bar of soap. We use only certified sustainably farmed Palm Oil.

Shea Butter

Shea Butter is high in stearic and oleic acids, which will help in hardening the soap for bar soap making, and helps provide a stable, conditioning lather. Shea butter also leaves your skin feeling soft and nourished.
